Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo pays tribute to her grandmother, who passed away 21 years ago.
Sharing her throwback photo, Iyabo Ojo revealed that her late grandmother was a strong woman and a teacher who later became a very successful businesswoman.
She wrote,THE WOMAN In this picture with little me and my immediate senior brother Bayo was my paternal grandmother; she raised us.

My darling belated grandmother was half Delta and half Igbo. Her dad hailed from Abor in Osumili Delta State, and her mom was from Odepe, Onitsha. After the death of my grandfather (late Pa Adebayo Ogunro), she took up the responsibility to raise her four kids and her grandkids.

She owned the Queen of Heart Hotel, located at Sapele,
She owned filling stations in Sapele, Lagos, and other states. She was the president of the Oduko women’s club.
She owned Phino Guest House, one of the biggest guest houses, then at Obanikiro, Lagos.
She owned a lot of properties.
She had several other businesses, which included the sale of sugar, land, gold, original coral beads, and laces.
She was a very powerful, strong, and industrious woman.
Born Jan. 1, Her name was the late Chief Mrs. Josephine Nanu Ogunro. Nee Olisa… She died at age 75.
I have always aspired to be like her, and I hope I am making you proud, Mama. When she died, I knew everything in life was vanity. Money can’t buy life.
Just do you: enjoy life, stay happy, spread love, and leave the rest to God. Nothing in life is permanent except change (birth, growth, growth & death).
It’s been 21 years, and you’ve gone to be with the Lord, but you’re forever fresh in my memories.
