Renowned actor Jide Kosoko recently took a heartfelt trip down memory lane, cherishing the memory of his late first wife, Alhaja Sherifat Abimbola Kosoko (formerly Lawal), who passed away three decades ago.
Using his official Instagram account, Jide Kosoko shared a poignant photograph of his late spouse, reflecting on the tragic year 1993 when he lost her.
In his emotional post, he expressed his feelings in these words:
“Today marks the 30th anniversary of my beloved wife, my very first love, and the mother of my elder children, Late Alhaja Sherifat Abimbola Kosoko (formerly Lawal).
Death is often distant until it touches someone close and dear to our hearts. When I lost you to the icy grip of death in 1993, it was an agonizing experience for me. You were my wellspring of joy and happiness, not just for me but also for our children. You played a central and indispensable role in our family’s harmony. Even though I continued on my journey a few years after your departure, your cherished memories are always evoked by certain events and circumstances.
I believe you watch over me in spirit, as the Yoruba saying goes, ‘Oku olomo ki sun.’ Rest in eternal peace, my darling.
